About this coffee

A stunning coffee from Burundi.

The main harvest in the Kayanza region begins very slowly in March, peaks around May, depending on altitude and weather and ends in July. The family members on the small farms nearby work the land, picking the coffee cherries themselves in the afternoon or on Saturdays.

The cherries are then selectively hand-sorted and delivered by foot or by bicycle to Mbirizi Washing Station, before fermentation, washing, grading and drying takes place.
